At the 6 month session, your baby will need to be able to sit up on their own without falling over for at least short periods at a time. If your child can not yet sit up on their own without leaning forward and supporting themselves with their arms, you may want to postpone this session. This is important, not only because the image for the Album will be of your baby sitting upright on their own, but also because safety of your baby is of the utmost importance to us, and we don’t want your baby to fall over and get hurt.
This is a session that we’ll do some naked images, and yes, most of the time when the baby is laying on the floor on its tummy naked, they pee. It happens. We do a lot of laundering of backgrounds. Don’t worry about it as it’s all part of photographing a baby at this stage.
We’ll do one outfit today also, at the end of the session. Feel free to bring several different outfits and we’ll help you choose the best one. Hats and headbands are cute too and we have a ton to play with! Of course, your baby might pull it off a few seconds after you put it on, but we’re fast and can capture it on. Sometimes parents amaze us and bring in their own bowl and pitcher, or an old hat box, or other personal items that can really add to the personal meaning for you. We have props, but certainly encourage parents to bring anything they wish of their own.
